My second visit to IME museum this October in Bangalore. And still I could only cover 80% after spending two hours.

Absolutely brilliant, well curated, air conditioned  Museum. Covers everything in indian music from vedic times, hindustani, karnatic music, various instrument from ancient times (Veena, Mrudanga has recorded history of 4000 yrers), the Bhakti movement Surdas Tulsidas, film music from 1890 to 2018, Kishore Mukesh Rafi Lata, TMS, PBS, SPB to music directors from SD, RD Burman to to Illayaraja to ARRahman, Diving music from Gurbani  Qawwali to Bhajans..

What a beautiful idea, conception and execution. If you are a Bangalorean and not seen it, you missed something in life. If you are from outside Bangalore make time (atleast 3 hours) to see it with family. Today I took my cousin from California here. And I make it a point to guide everyone of my relatives visiting Bangalore to visit this museum.

Beautiful Barcelona

BEAUTIFUL BARCELONA  Feb 2025 This month I was in Barcelona Spain. Its such a beautiful world city. A few things make this place special. . Mountains meet the Mediterranean Sea  . Nice beaches . Wide, clean roads for walking . Architecture from Roman times to now . Sagrada Familia Basilica, the museum and Park Guell filled with Antoni Gaudis works. Simply breath taking stuff. . Excellence in public transportation. I stayed for 4cdays. 2 days i was using only metro, bus, tram and hop on and off bus. . City of immigrants from north Africa, west and south Asia, north and western Europe. . Lovely food. Even a vegetarian like me had several great options. And the cheese varieties and fruits of Mediterranean like oranges peaches and grapes  . A sporting culture. I witnessed the Barcelona marathon last Sunday.
