Fascinating moon

The recent success of Chandrayaan 3, got back a fond moon memory. I'm a moon-watcher and a photographer, who can get mesmerised by the moon.

31 January, 2018 lunar event was called 'Trifecta' -  it was referred to as a "super blue blood moon".

1. it's a super moon (moon at perigee closest to earth)

2. it's a blue moon (full moon happening twice in the same calendar month)

3. its a blood or copper moon (happens only during a total lunar eclipse, where earth is perfectly aligned between the sun and the moon. And Earth's shadowi casts an orange glow for a few minutes on the moon, turning the white moon to dark orange, almost red.

I took may be over 100 photos over 2 hours using DSLR on Tripod. These six were the best capturing the six stages of the moon during the eclipse.

This Trifecta last occurred on 31 March 1866. The next occurrence will be on 31 January 2037. You can't see the trifecta again in your life time. In case you missed, enjoy my photo collage.

PS: I won a few awards for photography.  British Council (1996) and Fuji (1997) in the film SLR camera era. Then I stopped competing and started shooting just for pleasure.
